Bellator heavyweight Valentin Moldavsky had himself a memorable weekend recently in Serbia.
Moldavsky claimed a gold medal in the +100 kg division in combat sambo at the World Sambo Championships. The event took place in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Organized by the European Sambo Federation, Moldavsky followed in the footsteps of his mentor, Fedor Emelianenko, with the performance. The ESF is a member of the International Sambo Federation.
The 28-year-old Moldavsky is 10-1 in his MMA career and is a World and European Champion in combat sambo. He is a member of Team Fedor.
Earlier this year, Moldavsky claimed a decision over Roy Nelson, stretching his current win streak to five in a row. That includes five wins inside the Bellator cage.
