Where’s Riddick Moss? + USA Network’s Influence On NXT

Where's Riddick Moss?

Missing from WWE TV is Riddick Moss due to COVID-19 concerns. Also, the USA Network played a role in NXT’s Great American Bash.

Where’s Riddick Moss?

Riddick Moss is the latest WWE superstar concerned with the coronavirus.

Moss has remained home and away from action, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio. He joins Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn as current WWE superstars who have stayed off television due to the virus.

“Riddick Moss who is still with the company, but he’s disappeared,” Meltzer said. “It’s a COVID related thing as far as I know — not that he has it. He’s one of the guys like Sami Zayn who made the call that he’s not gonna work right now.”

The WWE has been dealing with several positive test results coming back for COVID-19. Renee Young, Kayla Braxton, Adam Pearce and Jamie Noble have all tested positive.

Moss, a 30-year-old, is a former college football player. He was first contacted by Jim Ross about trying out for the WWE.

In 2014, Moss was signed to a developmental contract and started training at the WWE Performance Center. He made this professional debut later that year.

Earlier this year, he claimed the WWE 24/7 title after turning on Mojo Rowley on an episode of Raw. He lost the title 41 days later to R-Truth.

USA Network’s Influence On NXT

In an effort to boost ratings, USA Network made the call to air the recent WWE NXT Great American Bash event on cable instead of the WWE Network.

The card went head-to-head with the AEW special on TNT.

According to Dave Meltzer, the decision was left in the hands of USA Network. The executives wanted to do all they could do defeat AEW’s Fyter Fest.

“This was a lot less commercials than the last week even,” Meltzer said. I mean it was very clear that this show from the NXT side was all about winning and not about making money you know as far as — I shouldn’t say NXT.

“It’s USA Network that makes that call. So USA Network really wanted a win.”

Great American Bash was held over two consecutive Wednesday nights. On the latest episode, Keith Lee defeated Adam Cole in a champion vs. champion match.

Lee left the event holding both the NXT North American and NXT championship after nearly 20 minutes of back-and-forth action.
