UFC 249: Vicente Luque Now 2-0 Against Niko Price

Vicente Luque

Back in 2017, Vicente Luque earned a win over Niko Price via submission.

Three years later, he added a TKO victory over Price at UFC 249 Saturday night.

Following a perfectly-placed strike, Luque left Price with a swollen right eye and the ringside doctor ended the bout in the third round.

“I’m an entertainer,” Luque said. “This was the first event back and I wanted to give a show. I think I brought it.”

Luque is now 7-1 over his last eight with two wins vs. Price. The lone loss came via decision to Stephen Thompson, a former UFC title contender.

“I’ve worked a lot since the Thompson fight,” he said. “I knew he would come in and not be easy, want to take my head off. I tried to show more, but it became a brawl.”

Of Luque’s 18 career wins, he has scored 16 finishes. He owns seven career knockouts in the UFC, which ranks third in the welterweight division all-time.

“I’m excited, happy and ready to go fight the tough guys again,” he said. “I want to move up the division.”
