WWE Backstage Viewership Jumps Up With CM Punk

As FOX probably was expecting – or at least hoping – the viewership for CM Punk’s official debut on WWE Backstage created a spike in the positive direction.

The show, which airs on FOX Sports 1, brought in 180,000 viewers according to a report by Showbuzz Daily. That is 80,000 more than the previous week.

That episode of the program ended with the former WWE champion making a surprise return to WWE programming for the first time in several years.

Punk, who led the promotion and would later compete twice for the UFC, signed a contract with FOX and not the WWE to make appearances on WWE Backstage.

WWE Backstage, which drew 49,000 viewers for the debut, airs Tuesday nights at 11 p.m. ET on FS1.

Alicia Fox Goes Public On Alcohol Issues, Claims To Be Sober

Former WWE superstar Alicia Fox acknowledged that she had problems with alcohol. Now, she is letting her fans know that things have changed for the better.

“For a while I thought I could avoid addressing my recovery of alcohol. I am human, and realized it was time to be transparent and honest,” Fox wrote on Instagram. “Today, I’m a few months sober, I’ve creatively navigated my emotions, snagged some new skills AND I WANT TO HELP!!! Ive learned that alcoholism is life threatening situation and support is available!! I figured I can share my insight and BE of SERVICE to anyone finding it hard to believe that ‘YOU ARE IMPORTANT’ and deserve an opportunity to learn how to live a clean and sober life”

Fox, a former model-turned professional wrestler, was placed on indefinite leave within the promotion after she appeared at a live event and competed drunk. That led to the release of Arn Anderson from his role within the WWE.

Fox returned at WrestleMania 35 for the WrestleMania Axxess event and lost to Becky Lynch on an April edition of Raw.

Along with being a WWE Divas champion, Fox also held the Ohio Valley Wrestling women’s title.

Fox was also a main member of Total Divas for seasons 3-5 and had spots on four other seasons.
