Aljamain Sterling Takes Verbal Pokes at Henry Cejudo, Frankie Edgar & Top Bantamweights

Aljamain Sterling is knocking on the title shot door thanks to his recent run in the Octagon. But, the “Funk Master” is also doing his part to make news outside the cage as well.

Sterling’s recent run

Sterling has moved into the #2 spot in the UFC’s bantamweight ranks, thanks to a four fight winning streak. Since Sterling was KO’d by Marlon Moraes in December, 2017, the dynamic fighter has defeated Brett Johns, Cody Stamann, Jimmie Rivera and most recently Pedro Munhoz.

Since the #1 ranked Moraes was taken out by the champ Henry Cejudo in his last outing, many believe that Sterling deserves a shot at the 135 crown.

“Funk Master” puts the division on notice

Well, as the MMA world waits to see who will face Cejudo for the bantamweight title next, Sterling recently fired off his message to the champ and the division:

I got a message for the whole division Joe!
Henry CeDooDoo, your act stinks! Literally!
Marlon Moraes, finally ran out of magic!
Cory Sandhagen, stop drinking that delusional kool-aid!
Petr Yan, makes me yawn!
Raphael Assuncao…who cares?
Pedro Munhoz tough (expletive), but not quick enough!
Cody Garbrandt, quickest rise and quickest fall!
Urijah Faber the one-trick pony!
I saved the best for last! Frankie Edgar, 135 lbs will NOT be “The Answer”! ✌

It will be interesting to see how the fighters mentioned here react to this, and what happens next for Sterling. Recently Dana White said that the UFC wants Cejudo to defend the flyweight title next. So, if that happens, Sterling may get called on to fight in the interim.
