Bellator 222 Results: The Aaron Pico Hype Is Officially Dead, Dead, Dead

It’s time to see Aaron Pico for what he really is: An accomplished wrestler with not a lot of MMA experience. That’s it. He’s nothing more.

At last night’s Bellator 222, Pico had only his seventh MMA fight ever (note: all of them have been in Bellator), and after dominating for over two and a half rounds, he got TKO’d. His opponent was Adam Borics, a Hungarian with an 8-0 MMA record on top of a decent kickboxing pedigree. A total no-name, but that didn’t matter. Pico changed levels for a takedown and Borics blasted him with a flying knee, and that was all she wrote.

Look, every promotion needs to hype fighters. Hype is what attracts fans. But Bellator has wrung all the can out of Pico. Time to throw this dude back into the pile and let him gain some experience in peace.
