Strawweight star Rose Namajunas went into the UFC 237 the queen of all 115-pounders. But thanks to a knockout slam courtesy of Jessica Andrade, “ThugRose” might be retired.
The fight started off well enough for her. She managed to mark Andrade up nicely with strikes at range, all while more or less avoiding the Brazilian’s efforts to brawl. At one point, Andrade slammed her, only to be nearly caught in a kimura. At another point, Namajunas was dropping her with a well-placed hook.

That was Round One. Round Two began to play out in similar fashion, but this time, when Andrade hoisted her up and slammed her down, she made sure Namajunas’ noggin’ took the brunt of it. And it worked. Namajunas was out cold.

So we have a new strawweight champ. And guess what song ThugRose was singing afterwards? Yup. The Retirement Song. The saddest song of all.
