Today is Easter, the holiday that celebrates the miracle of the Easter Bunny rising from the grave to hunt down its enemies like a Terminator. But yesterday the UFC event in St. Petersburg had its own little miracle: Roxanne Modafferi defeated lesser Shevchenko sister Antonina.
Actually, it wasn’t really a miracle. Although she has about a thousand more cage-miles on her, Roxy has long been a top WMMA fighter. And despite the odds being wildly in Shevchenko’s favor, female cagefighting pioneer had all the tools (and all the experience) to win. So she did!
They fought on the feet…

…And they fought on the ground (where Roxy has always excelled).

In the end, it was all about the split decision going to the American. It was certainly well-deserved!
