CW 104: Tom Watson Posts Video Statement, After Not Being Medically Cleared to Fight

Today’s Cage Warriors 104 card has taken a big hit, as UFC vet Tom Watson has not been medically cleared to fight Aaron Khalid as scheduled.

The two were booked to battle in the co-main event, but as a result of Watson’s withdrawal, Mason Jones vs Donovan Desmae is the new co-headliner.

Following Watson’s removal, the 36-year-old posted the video statement below. In it, “Kong” said the medical issue is not related to his weight, before referring to another “potential issue” that will require additional testing.

Hopefully, Watson’s okay and we see him back in the cage sooner than later. The British fighter hasn’t fought since 2015, when he lost via decision to Chris Camozzi at UFC FN 73.

Here is the complete line-up for CW 104, which will see bantamweight champ Jack Shore battle Scott Malone in the main event. You can catch the event on UFC Fight Pass. CW 104 will take place in Cardiff, Wales.
