Smackdown Live: 8 pm EST

Show opens up and Shane McMahon comes out to the ring. Shane says all the NXT stars who debuted on Raw last night were so impressive that they’re going to be on Smackdown tonight too. THe crowd cheers. Then The Miz comes out and says he hasn’t slept and needs to get something off his chest. Because it was his fault they lost the tag titles on Sunday. Shane took a chance, even despite Miz’s reputation… Miz knows this. And Miz says he has a confession to make: he used Shane. Miz knew Shane would have a soft spot for Miz’s desire to be closer with his dad.

Miz reflects on how Shane brought Miz’s dad out for the special moment when he told Miz he was proud of him, and that he loved him. And that was the first time Miz had ever heard him say that. Miz looks on the verge of tears, evidently emotional as he tells Shane that was one of the greatest moments of his life. And he has Shane to thank for that. So thank you, says Miz. But then Sunday Miz lets Shane down, and Miz wants to redeem that. And if there’s anyone who can make a tag title rematch, it’s Shane McMahon. The crowd chants, “Rematch!”

Then the Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos come out. They say if Shane forgives Miz, then they’ll give them one more shot at the gold. The Usos start talking trash about Miz and Shane defends his partner and say the rematch is on and will go down at Fastlane.
