Recently Donald Cerrone claimed that he already had been approached by the UFC with a proposal for his next bout, and now “Cowboy’s’ teased that fight could be with Conor McGregor.
Prior to Cerrone’s submission win over welterweight Mike Perry last weekend, the rugged vet said he intended to drop back down to lightweight for his next bout. More recently, Cerrone posted the image and comments below:
Now, before you start getting too excited, it should be noted that McGregor has a disciplinary hearing with the Nevada Commission December 10th, so, it’s unlikely the UFC would proceed with booking the star’s next bout until after that. The hearing is in regards to the post-fight brawl that followed McGregor’s submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.
Further, this could all be Cerrone just angling for this match-up, and the UFC and McGregor could be thinking differently. But we shall see…
