3. He Saw Teddy Long as a Love Rival
As ridiculous as it may sound, there is quite the story behind this. In 2007, the WWE had a storyline going between Kristal and the WWE general manager at the time, Teddy Long. The storyline romance would eventually lead to a typical WWE wedding, which did not end well due to Long having a kayfabe heart attack.
When you ask Teddy Long, the storyline ended a particular way because of Bobby Lashley. Kristal was his girlfriend at the time and Long claims Lashley did not like the romance storyline one bit.
Kristal was released a couple of weeks after the wedding storyline. Lashley also left the company shortly afterward.

While waiting at a Colorado Springs bank, he had to duck for cover as the bank was being robbed. However, Lashley suffered a severe knee injury as a result, having to miss the 2004 Olympics.
5. The WWE Tried To Get Lashley Since 2000
Lashley’s road in the WWE may not have been too smooth, the WWE certainly had its eyes on Lashley for many years. Before he first signed, the company had been trying to get him into the company as soon as the early 2000’s. Of course, he was training for the Olympics at the time, so he had little interest in joining the company.
