3 Directions The Bayley-Sasha Banks Feud Could Go

On the June 25th episode of Monday Night Raw, Bayley suddenly became a lot less huggable when she finally snapped on her best frenemy, Sasha Banks.

However, in spite of how exciting Bayley’s new spine is, there are a lot of different directions this feud could go – and a lot of ways it could go wrong.

Here are three potential outcomes of the Bayley-Banks feud.

Bayley Turns Heel

This is the scenario that the vast majority of the WWE Universe wants, myself included. And luckily for us, given that Bayley was the aggressor in her most recent blow-up with Banks, it seems that WWE is at least flirting with the idea of turning her heel.

Unfortunately, Bayley is mostly the female John Cena, and turning her evil would break a lot of kids’ hearts – something that WWE isn’t too keen on doing. But Bayley herself said on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast that her character needs more edge, and turning her would undoubtedly earn WWE a lot of brownie points with adult fans.

The Return of Dr. Shelby

Following Bayley’s vicious attack on Banks, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle ordered them both to counseling. If they don’t go, they’ll be fired.

The next night on SmackDown, Team Hell No reunited.

Coincidence? Yes. But that doesn’t change the fact that this storyline has “Dr. Shelby” written all over it. Even Dr. Shelby thinks so.

Dr. Shelby’s segments with Kane and Daniel Bryan were comedy gold – but WWE doesn’t seem to be going for comedy with Bayley and Banks. That being said, the ex-friends certainly have the chemistry to pull off something compelling. If done right, the counseling sessions could serve as a vehicle to entirely turn Bayley heel. If done wrong – well, it could be a disaster.

Loser Leaves Raw Match

In my opinion, a “Loser Leaves Raw” match seems like the inevitable conclusion of this feud, whether Bayley turns heel or not.

Think about it: Extreme Rules is the next upcoming PPV, and, as it stands, there ironically aren’t any stipulation matches on the card. Furthermore, WWE has been teasing the main roster feud between Bayley and Banks for a long time now – it’s time to put up or shut up, and what better way to put up than a Loser Leaves Raw match? Besides, with the likes of Ronda Rousey, Nia Jax, and Alexa Bliss dominating the Raw women’s division, either of them would arguably be better off on SmackDown.

The Point of No Return

Whatever happens in this feud, what’s crystal clear is that we’ve reached the point of no return. Either WWE finally gives up the ghost and entirely turns Bayley and Banks against each other, or they have them make up for the millionth time and further diminish any interest in this storyline. Hopefully, it’s the former.
