Alexa Bliss Might Be The Worst Best Friend Ever

Nia Jax has grown leaps and bounds as a performer over the last few months. Her match against Asuka at Elimination Chamber nearly stole the show, and their rematch on this week’s episode of Raw was just as good.

Despite her commendable performance, however, Jax just couldn’t overcome the Empress of Tomorrow, and she was left in tears in the middle of the ring after tapping out to a vicious Asuka Lock.

Enter Jax’s best friend, Alexa Bliss. Bliss found Jax backstage after the match and offered some words of “encouragement” in a way that only she could.

I don’t know about you, but I was legitimately uncomfortable watching that. Either Jax deserves a Best Actress Oscar or those were real tears. To be honest, I wouldn’t blame her if they were real tears – her actual best friend all but said she’s a freak who’s not good enough to uphold her family’s legacy. That’s harsh.

For what it’s worth, though, Nia did seem to keep her chin up on Twitter.

As cringey as this segment was, though, it seems like a clear indicator that WWE is indeed moving toward Nia vs. Alexa at WrestleMania. They wouldn’t have spent so much time and effort building Nia up as a legitimate threat to Asuka’s undefeated streak if they weren’t gearing her up for a major push. And who could blame Nia for turning on Alexa after such a cold and heartless pep talk?

Additionally, WWE.com is currently running a poll asking fans who they want to see Asuka face at WrestleMania – and Charlotte is winning. If WWE ends up booking that match – which is the match Charlotte herself wants – Nia is really the only logical opponent left for Alexa.

So if I were Alexa, I’d start being a little nicer to my only friend backstage.
