Cirque Du Soleil Artists Try Out Pro Wrestling

Back in December, NXT Superstars were treated to a hands-on learning experience behind the scenes of Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba show at Walt Disney World. As you can see in the video below, Cirque du Soleil is just as physically demanding as WWE, albeit in markedly different ways.

Well, WWE recently turned the tables by inviting the Cirque du Soleil performers to come try their hand at pro wrestling at the WWE Performance Center – and they clearly had no idea what they were getting into.

As a short-time student of pro wrestling myself, I definitely feel for the Cirque du Soleil folks. Ironically, bumping is both the first and one of the hardest things you will learn in pro wrestling; it’s completely counter-intuitive to throw yourself backward with the goal of landing as flat and as hard as you can. I had to have someone push me back over someone crouched in a tabletop behind me, like some sort of Three Stooges stunt, before I could even begin to do it properly.

Also, running the ropes hurts.

Watch the entire video of the Cirque du Soleil camp powering through their day at the Performance Center below. They actually didn’t do too bad.
