Neville Off 205 Live Intro Video Package – More Proof He’s Gone?

The saga of Neville’s WWE departure earned another sad mark. After supposedly storming off Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago, there were rumors that Neville was gone for good. The title changed hands and plans changed, signaling that perhaps Neville was leaving and WWE was ready to move in a new direction without him.

Now we have another small but powerful change that indicates that WWE is moving on from the Man That Gravity Forgot. Neville has been removed from the introductory video package on 205 Live.

WATCH for the changes.

While this is a hardly noticeable change, it has big implications for the Cruiserweight roster. What does Neville’s departure mean for 205 Live? And just as importantly, what does this mean for Neville? We think we know what’s next for both parties, and it is pretty good.

What’s Next for 205 Live?

205 live

Like it or not, the truth is that 205 Live is in the best spot it has been in since it began. Adding Enzo Amore to the mix has brought in new fans and created a genuine cast of villains that make the show exciting to watch. Beyond Enzo, characters like Mustafa Ali and Drew Gulak are unique to the show and bring something that we don’t see on Raw, Smackdown or even NXT.

While Neville is upset with his booking and lack of money, the cruiserweights are showing that they don’t need him to succeed. 205 Live is now appointment television for me.

It is similar in some ways to CM Punk leaving the company. The move forced WWE to improvise and change plans. Out of that, we got the Daniel Bryan vs. The Authority storyline and the Yes Movement. Could we see the same viral campaign out of 205 Live? I sure hope so.

What’s next for Neville?

Neville presumably is under contract for another few months. But after that, where does he go?

He could return to Ring Of Honor and Japan. Even though ROW overflows with talent, they wouldn’t turn down another gigantic WWE star coming to the roster.

While many would expect the high-flyer to move to New Japan, he wrestled primarily for Dragon Gate, a promotion that is more high-flyer and Lucha-libre focused.

He was also a big star in PWG and will no-doubt make it back to the Reseda, California VFW Hall.
