Four Insane Matches You Never Knew Happened

We all have dream matches – but some industrious searching on the internet might reveal that your dream match has actually already happened!

Reddit user BrakusGuy has uncovered a handful of “Matches You Never Knew Happened.” Here are four of the most noteworthy (so far).

Sheamus vs. Vampiro

Sheamus is notable for being a three-time WWE Champion and two-time RAW Tag Team Champion; Vampiro is notable for screwing Lucha Underground wrestler Taya Valkyrie out of a championship. Back in 2005 they wrestled each other at Irish Whip Wrestling in Dublin. Sheamus is damn near unrecognizable here – and now we have definitive proof that he dyes his hair.

Jinder Mahal vs. Psycho Sid

Um, what? Apparently current WWE Champion Jinder Mahal wrestled Psycho “I have half the brain that you do” Sid for Great North Wrestling in 2008. It’s actually a really good match – although Mahal clearly wasn’t in the best shape back then.

Daniel Bryan vs. Finn Balor

I know this is a dream match for a lot of people. Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor are two of the most gifted professional wrestlers in the world, but injury forced Bryan to retire long before Balor made his WWE main roster debut. Luckily for fans, they squared off against each other (as Bryan Danielson and Fergal Devitt) for NWA Empire in 2007. Fair warning: Balor’s choice of entrance music is a bit different than what he uses now.

Sting vs. Mean Mark Callous (The Undertaker)

For many fans, Sting vs. The Undertaker is the dream match to end all dream matches. When Sting finally debuted in WWE in November 2014, many hoped that he’d square of against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31. Alas, the blockbuster match didn’t happen – Sting faced Triple H instead.

But as it turns out, Sting and ‘Taker have wrestled each other. In WCW in 1990, Sting squared off against Mean Mark Callous, an early iteration of The Undertaker’s “American Bad Ass” character. Maybe it’s not quite the match fans want, but The Undertaker by any other name is just as legendary, right?

As noted above, these are just four of the matches BrakusGuy has found – and it looks like there will be more added to the series. It’ll be interesting to see what he digs up!
