Normally we would have no reason to talk about The Bachelorette on a wrestling website. But this last season one of the contestants was a pro wrestler. Kenny Layne, known as Kenny King in the wrestling world, was a major player this season. Even though he was sent home he was still a crowd favorite. So, we thought we would educate both Bachelorette AND wrestling fans about the long, storied career of Kenny King.
Kenny King’s In-Ring Style
While Kenny is built like a cruiserweight, his skills are more power and hard-hitting.
King is an ex-Division I football player and is very athletic.

Tough Enough
Kenny King (real name Kenny Layne, which is itself a pretty good wrestling name) got his start on the 2002Â season of WWE’s Tough Enough, making it to the finals. He didn’t win but decided to continue his training in Las Vegas under AWA legend Nick Bockwinkel.
TNA
King performed on and off for TNA from 2012-2015. Winning the X-Division title twice and was part of the winning Team USA in the 2013 World Cup of Wrestling.

Ring of Honor and Full Impact Pro
King arguably had his most success in wrestling while working for Ring of Honor. Working for them from 2007-2012, and 2015-present day. He also worked in its former “developmental” territory, Full Impact Pro. King established himself as a tag team specialist with partner Rhett Titus, forming the All Night Express. The team won the ROH tag team championship.

After taping ended for the Bachelorette, King returned to ROH, joining up with Caprice Coleman’s “Cabinet.” Currently, King is signed exclusively to Ring of Honor.
His Future?
The notoriety gained from the Bachelorette might get him a push in Ring of Honor. I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t take a wrestler getting such mainstream buzz and do something with him. He’s been wallowing on the mid-card and in 6-man tags recently. Now would be a good time for Ring of Honor to get some mainstream attention. The Bachelorette is watched by millions of people, most of whom are not into wrestling. They are obsessed with the show. Will they use this opportunity or drop the ball? Time will tell.
