Another Brock Lesnar rant you might wonder? Well, I have a good reason to post this rant today, so I hope you enjoy the read! As you all know, Lesnar not defending his title has angered wrestling fans, but now you can add something else to that list. His earnings compared to other major wrestlers!
Best Paid Wrestler
A recent article published by Forbes Magazine, revealed that our current WWE Universal “Champion” is also the best-paid wrestler at the moment. This is considered an outrage by many, considering this “wrestler” barely appears on TV and does not defend his title within the normal 30 days.
To help you get a grasp on how big the difference in earnings is between Lesnar and other wrestlers, here is the overview of earnings posted by Forbes.
- Brock Lesnar: $12 million
- John Cena: $8 million
- Triple H: $3.8 million
- Roman Reigns: $3.5 million
- Dean Ambrose: $2.7 million
- AJ Styles: $2.4 million
- Shane McMahon: $2.2 million
- The Undertaker: $2 million
- Seth Rollins: $2 million
- Randy Orton: $1.9 million
Even though there are other things to consider; this includes merchandise sales, the difference in earnings between the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar is most shocking to me. Then, also the big difference between big talents such as AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. They wrestle every week, while Lesnar does not even bother!
Is Lesnar a Special Attraction?
The WWE considers Lesnar a special attraction, so he gets special treatment. Still, I don’t think fans see Lesnar as a special attraction anymore, but see him as a blemish on the current WWE Universal Championship.
Also, I don’t believe that wrestlers in the locker room are too happy with these numbers. They work their butt off every week, while Lesnar casually strolls into fight new pay-per-views and only makes an appearance every couple of months.
I don’t think Lesnar is bothered with this at all since his paycheck is more important to him than his standing with fans. Everyone knows Lesnar does not care much about the WWE Universe and the people that buy his merchandise (that’s why my Brock Lesnar shirt from many years ago has already found its way into the bin).
In my head, I think Lesnar is sitting at home counting his money and truly enjoying the pull he has with the “special treatment” contract he landed with the WWE. In the meantime, the value of the WWE Universal Title has become zero.
What Needs to Happen With Brock Lesnar?
Honestly, the WWE need to get their priorities straight. If they are willing to pay Lesnar so much for so little, then surely they are better off sending him back to the UFC (if they even want him), and invest their money into someone more deserving? Fin Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, or even Seth Rollins!
Do you believe the earnings are fair? Or do you believe that Lesnar should be stripped of the title and his “special treatment” contract? Let us know your unsalted opinion below and we will look forward to reading them!
