Monday Night Raw: 8 pm EST

Show opens up and Universal Champion Brock Lesnar comes out with his advocate Paul Heyman. The crowd chants “Suplex City” as they get to the ring and Heyman starts cutting a promo about Lesnar’s opponent this Sunday at Royal Rumble, He bigs up Finn Balor but ultimately explains why Lesnar will destroy him. But then, Vince McMahon comes out to the ring. Vince cuts a promo and says Balor has no chance to win. Vince also insults the crowd and plays a heel as he sort of rambles on barely coherently.

Suddenly, Braun Strowman comes out to the ring and steps up on the apron. Lesnar gets ready to throw down but Strowman just stands there. Strowman says Balor got lucky last week winning that title shot, but Lesnar got lucky too. Because Strowman would have ripped Lesnar apart and he’ll be waiting for Lesnar after the Rumble. Vince tries to calm everyone down but then Balor’s music hits and he struts down to the ring. He cuts a promo full of empty platitudes and it’s just embarrassing to watch at this point.

Then Vince makes a match between Balor and Strowman to take place right now.

Singles Match: Finn Balor vs. Braun Strowman

Balor fights valiantly and ends up battling both Lesnar and Strowman throughout the match. Balor nearly hits the finish on Strowman but Lesnar runs in and gives him an F-5. The ref disqualifies the match… even though Lesnar had already been involved in the match numerous times without any intervention.

Winner: Finn Balor (DQ)

Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley and his manager Lio Rush come out to the ring. Rush starts cutting a promo. Rush says they’re not there to issue open challenges, those are for kids. Lashley is a professional fighter. They do this for the money. Rush says they’re there to celebrate. And to do that, Lashley is going to jump up on a podium and show off his physique. As Lashley is posing, Apollo Crews comes out to interrupt. He cuts a promo but Rush ends up arranging a pose off between Lashley and Crews.

They both pose and the crowd boos Lashley but cheers Crews. Lashley ends up attacking Crews but Crews throws both him and Rush out of the ring.

Singles Match: Bobby Lashley vs. Apollo Crews

Crews puts up a courageous effort but Rush interferes and causes Crews to be Speared by Lashley for the 3-count.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

After the match, Seth Rollins enters for his match with Drew McIntyre before Lashley is done celebrating his victory. Lashley and Rollins pass each other tensely on ramp.

Before the match can get started, Rollins cuts a tepid and platitudinous promo and says a whole lot of nothing much in the end. He vows to win the Rumble this Sunday, basically. Then Drew McIntyre comes out and says he has a rebuttal for Rollins. There’s a zero percent chance that Rollins will win the Rumble, McIntyre says. He possesses all the same attributes as Rollins, except he’s much bigger. So there’s nothing Rollins can do, “…And the Rumble winner will be Drew McIntyre!” he says.

Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre

The two men tear down the house and have a barnburner but it’s the embattled Rollins who scores the win with a surprise rollup after McIntyre had been hitting him with some big near-finishes.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After the match, Rollins ducks out of the ring and makes his way, disheveled, up the aisle to the back. McIntyre just stares at him angrily from the ring.

Corbin picks up the win with an End Of Days after hitting Elias in the throat behind the ref’s back.
