Maria Kanellis wants to come back to the ring. But when will she? Well, if her hinting and #vaguegraming is any indication, it could be at this summer’s Mae Young Classic II. While the air dates for the 2nd annual all-women’s tournament hasn’t been announced, taping will take place August 8th and 9th at FullSail Arena in Orlando. Maria says in her post that she’ll be “down in Florida at the beginning of August fighting [for a chance to wrestle again]”. Kanellis’ husband recently returned to the ring and celebrated a year of sobriety.

Hmmmm… mommy is ready to get back to work. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children of all ages come see the most talked about couple in wrestling prior to joining the greatest show on earth, WWE. Imagine what could happen if self made talent could meet the biggest marketing machine of them all? An over night success is when experience meets opportunity. A Superstar is when a talent meets WWE TV time. I’ll be down in Florida at the beginning of August fighting for that time. Even if I’m doing it with stretched out mommy belly skin and a baby on my hip. I don’t have a college education saved in the bank for my baby girl so momma has to go back to work. #unscriptedreality #themoon #backtowork #firstlady #milkmoney Just call me mommy the money maker!!
Since leaving the WWE she worked as an actress and manager, wrestling occasionally on the indies. In ROH and Impact, she wrestled but mostly served as a mouthpiece and manager for various wrestlers including her husband.
Kanellis would be the 2nd former WWE Diva to join the Mae Young Classic. Former Diva’s Champion Kaitlyn and MYC I second-rounder Rhea Ripley are the first two announced participants.
