Mandy Rose

A long-rumored return to WWE took place on the Raw after Survivor Series. Adding to the excitement, the former Diva’s and NXT Women’s Champion wasn’t alone, bringing two new Superstars with her to Raw. Paige, aka the “Anti-Diva” aka the “Glampire” aka Alberto El Patron’s Ex, aka the only woman to hold the Diva and NXT Women’s Title simultaneously returned to WWE. The British Superstar was out for over a year with a neck issue and suspension due to failing a drug test. After the raucous reaction to her return, Paige announced she “wasn’t alone.” As she walked to the ring two new figures ambushed Sasha Banks and Mickie James. The two latest editions to the Raw roster are Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

Following the attack, the three attacked Alexa Bliss backstage.

Who Are Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville?

You may recognize the two from the last season of Tough Enough. Rose is a former bodybuilder featured in a few major fitness magazines.

Sonya Deville is a former mix-martial artist who is actually in the midst of a bit of a push in NXT. Another important note is that as of right now, Sonya Deville is the first open lesbian to be on the WWE main roster.

Both Rose and Deville haven’t been on NXT too much. Similiar to Braun Strowman, neither was giving much of a story on NXT before introduced to the main roster.

It seems from this that Paige is the new number-one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. This is a long way from the rumor that Paige was one her way out of WWE  and dating Alberto El Patron during a very public meltdown by the Mexican wrestler.

But the debuts wouldn’t end there.

The next night on Smackdown, three more NXT women made their main roster debuts. Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan.

Ruby Riot, known as Heidi Lovelace on the indies, is a tattoo-covered hard-hitter. Sarah Logan, known has Crazy Mary Dobson on the indies, participated in the Mae Young Classic and is from the backwoods of Kentucky. She is engaged to ROH and NJPW tag team wrestler Raymond Rowe. Liv Morgan is a former competitive cheerleader and model discovered by Triple H’s personal trainer.

There are a lot of rumors as to why these debuts happened. Some stories indicate Vince wanted to mix-up the Women’s Division on both rosters, and we may soon get tag titles for women on Raw, Smackdown, and NXT. Another rumor went even further, suggesting that next year we may get our first Women’s Royal Rumble. Regardless of what happens next, this is an exciting time for Women’s Wrestling. With Paige returning and new blood wrecking havoc, there will be a bunch of new stories for the ladies of WWE.

But what does that mean for Asuka and the others? Time will tell.

I’m glad Paige is back. Are you? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
