After Sunday’s Payback PPV there is a new US Champion on Smackdown Live. We are three weeks away from Smackdown’s exclusive PPV, Backlash.

Here’s what we’re looking to see tonight.

Jericho’s America

Chris Jericho shocked fans and pundits alike with his win over Kevin Owens on Sunday recapturing the United States Championship. Though careful watchers of WWE and Jericho, in particular, know that he is about to go on tour with his band Fozzy. It would seem likely that Jericho would drop the title tonight pback to Kevin Owens in their rematch. KO would then move into a feud with number one contender AJ Styles. But with Brock taking the Universal Title home until July, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Jericho retains the belt tonight and holds it until his return from hiatus.

The Smackdown Mean Girls

Last week’s main event was Naomi vs Charlotte for the SD Women’s Title. The bout ended in no-contest as Carmella, Tamina, and Natalya (and James Ellsworth) jumped the two contenders and stood proudly in the middle of the ring. Noticeably absent from this group was Becky Lynch. The three jilted women will continue to wreck havoc on Smackdown and demand the matches and respect they believe they deserve.

The Rise of Mahal

Number one Contender Jindal Mahal and his lackeys the Singh Brothers still hold possession over Randy Orton’s WWE Title. They used it on Sunday to prevent Orton from defeating Bray Wyatt. While many people are scoffing at the “USA vs Foreigner” part of this angle, Mahal’s push has more depth than that. He is standing up for an entire continent and WWE is hoping that he will be seen as a hero in India. Will Orton be able to even the odds?

And All The Rest!
